Dr . Climate Justice Seminar Recap: Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali, On April 5, 2021, the UC Davis Coastal & Marine Sciences Institute hosted a conversation with Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali, facilitated by Dr. Liz Whiteman. Mustafa Santiago Ali has been a Guest Lecturer at Harvard University, Yale University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, Spelman College, Albany Law School and Howard University School of Law. Dr. Ali was joined by Dr. Liz Whiteman, the Executive Director of the California Ocean Science Trust. Mr. George also served as the drinking water utility's interim executive director from 2011 to 2013. He also manages NVRCs international environmental partnerships which focus on the transfer and adoption of policy and technical innovations from abroad to Northern Virginia. He served as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of DC Water, transforming DC Water into an innovative, customer-oriented enterprise. She's also a mindfulness meditation teacher in Washington, DC. Ms. Harris is currently engaged in a multi-year project studying federal/Indigenous co-management of subsistence marine resources in the United States and Canadian Arctic. Mustafa worked for EPA administrators beginning with William Riley and ending with Scott Pruitt. Mr. Mergen has taught at American University, the Villanova University, the Catholic University of America, and most recently at the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. Throughout his career, Mustafa has conducted more than 1,000 presentations across the country, including speeches, training, and guest lectures at over 100 colleges and universities. He recently served as a Senior Advisor to TPG Capital, LP, an international investment partnership. She has had leadership roles in national and local bar associations. She was responsible for leading daily operations and corporate functions, as well as for creating and managing a strategy to ensure that Vulcans operational infrastructure was appropriate for achieving its vision.
